Identity design for the Mütter Museum

The Mütter Museum has a unique collection of specimens and objects that reflect the human history of anatomy and medicine.

The visual identity was inspired by the Hyrtl Skull Collection. It consists of 139 human skulls on a display cabinet, which includes information describing the person’s age, origin, and cause of death. Although the skulls look visually identical, every person has their own unique background and personality. I created a custom human typeface derived from circles and lines that are used across the museum’s identity.
